Michael J. Roberts is a robotics researcher whose work spans rehabilitation engineering, marine autonomy, and industrial automation. His early research focused on robotic fettling—the automated removal of excess material from castings—where he pioneered the use of visual feedback and automated path acquisition to improve consistency and efficiency in manufacturing.
