Maximiliano Romero is a pioneering researcher at the intersection of social robotics, design, and therapeutic intervention, whose work has fundamentally reshaped how robots can support vulnerable populations. His primary research areas include developmental robotics for neurodevelopmental disorders, human-robot interaction, and inclusive design for healthcare applications. Romero’s most significant contribution is the development of Teo, a huggable, mobile robot designed in close collaboration with developmental disability specialists for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other neurodevelopmental conditions.
