Dr. Marco Giampaoli is a urologic surgeon whose research centers on advancing minimally invasive robotic surgery for complex urologic cancers and stone disease. His most impactful work focuses on robot-assisted radical cystectomy (RARC) for bladder cancer, where he has made significant contributions to improving surgical techniques and patient outcomes. His highly cited 2019 study on RARC with totally intracorporeal urinary diversion (37 citations) established the feasibility and safety of this demanding procedure, while his 2021 prospective analysis (19 citations) demonstrated that the robotic approach significantly enhances the benefits of Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) protocols.
