About
Luca Negri is a leading researcher at the intersection of human-robot interaction (HRI) and industrial psychology, with a primary focus on mental workload and emotional well-being in collaborative manufacturing environments. His work addresses a critical gap in Industry 4.0: how to design collaborative robots (cobots) that not only perform tasks safely but actively promote good mental health for human operators. Negri’s most influential contribution is his 2023 scoping review on mental workload in human-robot collaboration (HRC), which has garnered 72 citations and serves as a foundational reference for the field. He further advanced this area by developing a human-driven control architecture (2021, 17 citations) that enables industrial cells to automatically adapt their behavior to improve operator well-being.
