Dr. Liang‐Kung Chen is a leading researcher at the intersection of geriatric medicine and assistive robotics, with a primary focus on improving the quality of life for older adults with neurocognitive disorders. Her work centers on developing and evaluating human-centered robotic systems for elderly care, particularly exploring how teleoperated humanoid robots can enhance social interaction and cognitive engagement in clinical settings. In her seminal 2020 case report on applying teleoperated humanoid robots to older adults with neurocognitive disorders in Taiwan, Dr. Chen demonstrated promising preliminary outcomes that have garnered 20 citations, establishing a foundation for future human-robot interaction (HRI) studies in geriatric care.
