Dr. Kyung Ho Kang is a pioneering surgeon whose work has fundamentally reshaped the surgical management of thyroid cancer, particularly through the advancement of robotic techniques. His primary research focuses on developing and validating minimally invasive robotic approaches for thyroidectomy and neck dissection, with a specific emphasis on the bilateral axillo-breast approach (BABA). Dr. Kang’s major contributions include demonstrating the safety and oncologic completeness of robotic modified radical neck dissection for papillary thyroid carcinoma with lateral neck metastasis, a procedure he first reported in a landmark 2013 study (72 citations).
