Kai Keng Ang is a pioneering biomedical engineer and neurotechnology researcher whose work sits at the intersection of brain-computer interfaces (BCI), neural rehabilitation, and robotics. Best known for advancing EEG-based motor imagery BCI systems, Ang has dedicated his career to developing clinically viable technologies that harness neuroplasticity to restore motor function in stroke survivors. His landmark randomized controlled trials — including studies coupling BCI with MIT-Manus and Haptic Knob robots — have provided rigorous clinical evidence that mentally imagining movement, guided by real-time neural feedback, can drive meaningful physical recovery in hemiparetic patients.
