Dr. Junying Yuan is a leading figure in the field of cell biology, renowned for pioneering the discovery of necroptosis—a programmed form of necrosis distinct from apoptosis. Her seminal work, including the identification of receptor-interacting protein kinases RIPK1 and RIPK3 as key mediators of this pathway, has fundamentally reshaped our understanding of cell death and its roles in inflammation, neurodegeneration, and cancer.
