Jisen Tang has made foundational contributions to the understanding of transient receptor potential (TRP) channels, particularly the thermosensitive TRPV subfamily. Their landmark 2004 study, “2-Aminoethoxydiphenyl Borate Is a Common Activator of TRPV1, TRPV2, and TRPV3,” with over 500 citations, revealed that 2-APB—previously known as a modulator of other ion channels—acts as a broad activator of heat-sensitive TRPV channels.
