Jeevan Regmi is an atmospheric scientist whose research focuses on aerosol climatology and the long-range transport of atmospheric particulates over the Himalayan region of Nepal. His major contributions center on characterizing the optical properties and seasonal variability of aerosols using ground-based remote sensing data from the Aerosol Robotic Network (AERONET). In his most cited work, “Investigation of Aerosol Climatology and Long-Range Transport of Aerosols over Pokhara, Nepal” (2020, 13 citations), Regmi analyzed nearly a decade of spectral measurements—from 2010 to 2018—to reveal monthly and seasonal patterns in aerosol optical depth, single scattering albedo, and absorption aerosol optical depth. This study provided critical insights into how transported pollutants and local emissions shape the region’s aerosol burden. His follow-up paper (2021, 5 citations) further refined these findings by examining daily and monthly variability in AOD and Ångström exponents for 2017, highlighting the dominance of fine-mode particles during dry seasons.
