J. R. Johnson is a leading planetary scientist whose work has fundamentally advanced our understanding of Mars and the Moon through remote sensing and robotic exploration. Their primary research areas include the geochemistry and mineralogy of planetary surfaces, with a major focus on the development and application of spectroscopic instruments for in-situ analysis.
