About
Hamidreza Pouretemad is a pioneering researcher at the intersection of clinical psychology and social robotics, whose work has fundamentally reshaped therapeutic interventions for children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). His research focuses on leveraging humanoid robots as assistive tools for autism treatment, with particular emphasis on joint attention, imitation skills, and music education. Pouretemad's landmark 2017 study on human–robot interaction with autistic twins, siblings, and classmates (90 citations) demonstrated how robotic platforms can facilitate social engagement in ways traditional therapies cannot. His innovative robot-assisted music education program (58 citations) broke new ground by using a xylophone-playing humanoid to systematically teach musical fundamentals to children with ASD.
