About
Hamad Khan is a rising surgical oncologist whose work is reshaping the management of head and neck cancers, particularly carcinoma of unknown primary (CUP). His primary research areas center on transoral robotic surgery (TORS) and the diagnostic utility of tongue base mucosectomy. In his landmark 2024 meta-analysis, Khan demonstrated that TORS-assisted tongue base mucosectomy achieves a primary tumour detection rate exceeding 75% in CUP patients—a dramatic improvement over traditional panendoscopy.
