About

Fengqing Yang is a leading researcher in wireless power transfer (WPT) technology, with a focus on exploiting fundamental physical phenomena to enhance efficiency, range, and control. Her work centers on the application of parity-time (PT) and anti-PT symmetry in coupled resonator systems, as well as the exploration of topological edge states for directed energy flow. In her highly cited 2023 paper, "Level pinning of anti-PT-symmetric circuits for efficient wireless power transfer" (41 citations), Yang introduced a novel mechanism to stabilize power transfer efficiency against variations in coupling distance, a critical challenge for real-world applications. Her earlier 2021 study, "Actively controlled asymmetric edge states for directional wireless power transfer" (25 citations), pioneered the use of topological photonic concepts to achieve robust, one-way energy routing, enabling selective charging of multiple devices without interference. These contributions have direct implications for implantable medical devices, electric vehicles, and logistics robotics. Yang’s work is distinguished by its elegant fusion of non-Hermitian physics with practical engineering, earning her recognition as a rising innovator in the field. Her research not only advances the theoretical understanding of symmetry and topology in open systems but also provides actionable designs for next-generation, efficient, and interference-free wireless power networks.
