Federico A. Corica is a pioneering urologic surgeon whose work has significantly advanced the fields of robotic surgery and surgical education. His research centers on the development and dissemination of minimally invasive techniques, particularly robot-assisted laparoscopic surgery for complex urologic cancers. Corica’s most notable contribution is his landmark 2006 study describing the first robot-assisted laparoscopic radical cystoprostatectomy with a completely intracorporeal orthotopic ileal neobladder (77 citations), a technically demanding procedure that redefined the standard for bladder cancer surgery. Beyond the operating room, Corica has had a profound impact on surgical training.
