About
Dr. Debra Saliba is a leading geriatrician and health services researcher whose work has fundamentally shaped how we assess and improve care for older adults. Her primary research areas include long-term care quality measurement, dementia care, and the development of comprehensive geriatric assessment tools. She is best known as the architect of the Minimum Data Set (MDS) 3.0, a federally mandated assessment instrument used in over 15,000 nursing homes nationwide, which revolutionized resident care planning by integrating direct resident interviews and improving the accuracy of clinical data.
