Craig Pitcher is a pioneering roboticist and space exploration engineer whose work focuses on developing innovative drilling and sampling technologies for planetary subsurface exploration. His primary research areas include bio-inspired robotic drills, low-mass planetary instrumentation, and lunar volatile detection systems. Pitcher’s most significant contribution is the creation of the first-ever robotic DRD-based penetrator for planetary exploration, a proof-of-concept that evolved into a fully functional prototype.
