About
Charles Long is a leading figure in atmospheric science, specializing in aerosol and cloud radiative effects, solar radiation measurement, and the calibration of ground-based remote sensing instruments. His major contributions include developing automated methods for calibrating Multifilter Rotating Shadowband Radiometers (MFRSR), which are critical for accurately retrieving aerosol optical depth (AOD).
