Basmah Bahbahani is a pioneering surgeon whose work is redefining the boundaries of global surgical care through ultra-long-distance telesurgery. Her research focuses on the clinical and technical feasibility of cross-border robotic surgery, with a particular emphasis on urological oncology and health equity. In her landmark 2025 study, she demonstrated the successful performance of a robotic-assisted radical prostatectomy (RARP) between Asia and the Middle East on a patient with localized prostate cancer, achieving 20 citations for its proof-of-concept outcomes.
