About
Dr. Avinash Beharry is a pioneering head and neck surgeon whose work centers on expanding the role of transoral robotic surgery (TORS) for complex and high-risk patient populations. His major contributions lie in demonstrating the oncological safety and functional benefits of TORS in challenging scenarios, particularly for recurrent tumors in previously irradiated fields and for HPV-negative oropharyngeal cancers. His landmark 2022 international cohort study on TORS for recurrent upper aerodigestive tract tumors (RECUT), with 29 citations, provides critical evidence for a minimally invasive alternative in a traditionally difficult-to-treat group.
