About
Antonello Vidiri is a leading thoracic surgeon whose research focuses on minimally invasive surgical oncology, particularly in lung and oropharyngeal cancers. His work centers on advancing robotic-assisted techniques to improve staging accuracy and patient outcomes. In a landmark 2021 retrospective study, Vidiri demonstrated that robotic-assisted lobectomy achieves nodal upstaging rates comparable to traditional thoracotomy for early-stage non-small cell lung cancer, challenging the superiority of open surgery and supporting the oncologic safety of minimally invasive approaches.
