About
Andrew J. Titmus is a developmental biologist whose work has significantly advanced our understanding of gene expression patterns in the mammalian brain. His key research areas include molecular neurobiology, in situ hybridization technologies, and the functional genomics of fibroblast growth factor (FGF) signaling. Titmus made a landmark contribution with his 2005 study, which generated a comprehensive expression atlas of FGFs and their receptors using a novel robotic in situ hybridization platform called "Genepaint." This work, which has garnered 168 citations, validated a high-throughput approach that dramatically improved the scale and reproducibility of gene expression mapping in tissue sections.
