About

Ali Hosni is a leading surgical oncologist whose research focuses on refining treatment paradigms for head and neck cancers, particularly through the integration of transoral robotic surgery (TORS) with radiotherapy de-intensification. His major contributions center on improving outcomes for patients with carcinoma of unknown primary (CUP) and oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC). Hosni’s work demonstrates that TORS-assisted lingual tonsillectomy can significantly enhance the identification of hidden base-of-tongue tumors, enabling more targeted, less toxic radiotherapy. His landmark study on radiation volume de-intensification in p16-positive CUP (the FIND trial, 2022) showed that reducing radiotherapy fields based on TORS findings can maintain oncologic control while minimizing treatment-related morbidity.
