About
Dr. Alexander Roosen is a pioneering urologic surgeon whose research has fundamentally advanced the application of robotic and stereotactic technologies in renal and prostate surgery. His work centers on pushing the boundaries of minimally invasive techniques, particularly for complex kidney tumors and high-risk patient populations. Dr. Roosen’s landmark study on single-fraction radiosurgery for renal tumors (100 citations) established a novel, non-invasive alternative for patients unable to undergo traditional surgery, demonstrating that high-dose, targeted radiation could achieve excellent local tumor control. He further revolutionized the field by systematically proving that robot-assisted partial nephrectomy can achieve “trifecta” outcomes—negative margins, minimal complications, and preserved renal function—even for the most challenging completely endophytic tumors (50 citations).
