About
P. Trueblood is a key figure in the development of low-cost, robotic astronomical instrumentation, with a primary focus on exoplanet transit follow-up and time-domain astrophysics. Trueblood’s major contributions center on the design, construction, and operation of the DEdicated MONitor of EXotransits (DEMONEX) and its successor, DEMONEXT. The DEMONEX project, described in a 2010 paper with 22 citations, pioneered the use of commercially available parts to build a fully robotic 0.5-meter telescope dedicated to monitoring bright stars with transiting planets, producing homogeneous, high-precision photometry.
