About

P. Scollo is a leading figure in the emerging field of uterus transplantation (UTx), with a research focus on reproductive surgery, fertility preservation, and the surgical management of Mayer-Rokitansky-Küster-Hauser (MRKH) syndrome. As a key contributor to the International Society of Uterus Transplantation (ISUTx), Scollo co-authored the landmark "Second report of registry of the International Society of Uterus Transplantation (ISUTx): international activities 2000–2024," which provides the most comprehensive global audit of UTx outcomes to date. This work, accumulating 3 citations, documents 91 UTx cases worldwide—67 from live donors and 80 recipients with MRKH syndrome—and reports a 12-month graft survival rate that underscores the procedure's growing viability. Scollo’s contributions have been instrumental in standardizing surgical protocols and ethical guidelines for this nascent field, offering new hope to women with uterine factor infertility. By systematically cataloging international practices, Scollo has helped transform UTx from experimental therapy into a clinically reproducible option, shaping the future of reproductive transplantation.
