Mao-Sheng Lin is a pioneering urological surgeon whose work has helped define the role of robotic-assisted surgery in Taiwan. His research focuses on the application of robotic systems—from the early ZEUS platform to the da Vinci system—in laparoscopic procedures, particularly adrenalectomy and radical prostatectomy. Lin’s most influential work is his 2007 comparative study of robot-assisted versus traditional laparoscopic adrenalectomy, which has garnered 66 citations and provided critical one-year follow-up data demonstrating the safety and efficacy of the robotic approach. This study remains a key reference for surgeons evaluating minimally invasive adrenal surgery.
