Li Liang is a leading figure in malaria immunology, whose work has fundamentally shaped our understanding of how the RTS,S vaccine—the world’s first licensed malaria vaccine—interacts with the human immune system. Her research centers on the complex interplay between vaccine-induced immunity and natural parasite exposure, with a particular focus on *Plasmodium falciparum* liver- and blood-stage dynamics.
