Dr. Lan Feng is a leading figure in satellite aerosol remote sensing, whose work is essential for understanding air quality and climate dynamics. Her research focuses on the rigorous evaluation and validation of aerosol optical depth (AOD) products from a new generation of spaceborne sensors. Dr. Feng’s most impactful contribution is her landmark 2019 study on the Himawari-8/AHI aerosol products, which provided a critical uncertainty estimate for this next-generation geostationary sensor, garnering 83 citations.
