About
Kevin Lawlor is a leading figure in functional proteomics and biomarker discovery, best known for pioneering serum peptidome profiling to detect cancer. His landmark 2006 study, cited 178 times, demonstrated that serum peptidome patterns can distinguish metastatic thyroid carcinoma from cancer-free controls, and crucially, that these patterns are unbiased by gender and age—a major step toward robust, non-invasive diagnostics. Lawlor’s key contribution lies in shifting focus from static protein abundance to dynamic enzyme activity.
