About
Kriti Pathak is a rising leader in interventional pulmonology, whose work is redefining the diagnostic and therapeutic landscape of airway and lung disease. Her primary research centers on advanced bronchoscopic techniques, with a particular focus on robotic-assisted navigation for the diagnosis of peripheral pulmonary lesions. Pathak’s most cited paper, “Robotic Navigation Bronchoscopy Using the ION Platform: A New Era in Proving Benign Disease” (2021), has garnered 5 citations and represents a seminal contribution to the field. In this work, she demonstrates how the ION robotic platform can achieve unprecedented precision in sampling small, hard-to-reach nodules, thereby reducing the need for more invasive surgical biopsies. Beyond this flagship study, Pathak has explored the integration of real-time imaging and artificial intelligence to enhance diagnostic yield and minimize complications. Her research has direct implications for patients with early-stage lung cancer and complex benign conditions, offering a safer, more accurate path to diagnosis. As a clinician-scientist, Pathak is also dedicated to training the next generation of bronchoscopists, and her work continues to shape best practices in minimally invasive pulmonary medicine.
