About

Dr. Feilong Yu is a rising leader in the field of perovskite nanocrystal (PNC) engineering, with a focused expertise in surface chemistry and defect passivation for next-generation optoelectronic materials. His most celebrated contribution is the development of the "Surface Cation Cross-Locking" (SCCL) strategy, a groundbreaking method that transforms the notoriously destructive post-synthetic halide anion exchange process into a non-destructive, "on-demand" synthesis. This work, published in 2024 and already garnering 8 citations, elegantly solves a critical "double-edged sword" problem in PNCs: enabling full-spectrum color tunability without introducing surface defects that degrade performance. By locking surface cations, Dr. Yu’s approach preserves the pristine crystalline integrity of CsPbX₃ nanocrystals, ensuring high photoluminescence quantum yields and stability. This innovation has significant implications for the scalable manufacturing of high-performance LEDs, displays, and solar concentrators. Dr. Yu’s research sits at the intersection of materials chemistry and nanotechnology, and his work is rapidly establishing new standards for precision synthesis in colloidal quantum dots.
