About
Daher Chade is a leading Brazilian urologic oncologist whose work is shaping the modern surgical landscape of prostate and bladder cancer. His primary research focus is on the comparative effectiveness of robotic-assisted versus open surgical techniques, with a particular emphasis on optimizing perioperative, oncological, and functional outcomes for patients. Chade’s most impactful contribution is his landmark 2024 randomized clinical trial, which directly compared robot-assisted laparoscopic prostatectomy (RALP) to open retropubic radical prostatectomy. With 47 citations, this study provides critical, high-quality evidence on postoperative recovery and cancer control, filling a significant gap in the literature. He has also been instrumental in advancing robotic surgery in Brazil, leading the first multicentric Brazilian experience with robotic-assisted radical cystectomy and co-authoring a national expert consensus on robotic prostatectomy. Through these efforts, Chade is not only refining surgical standards but also expanding access to minimally invasive techniques, making him a pivotal figure in the global conversation on urologic oncology.
