About

Celal Savur is a leading researcher at the forefront of human-robot collaboration (HRC), specializing in making industrial robots safer, more intelligent, and more responsive to human partners. His work centers on three core pillars: **dynamic awareness**, **physiological computing**, and **human safety**. Savur’s most influential contribution is his comprehensive 2020 survey on HRC in industrial settings, which has garnered over 210 citations and established a foundational framework for the field. He pioneered the use of Time-of-Flight laser-ranging sensors to give robotic arms real-time spatial awareness, enabling them to detect and react to human presence.
