Abstract
New technologies are being used to improve the quality of machined thin-wall components, especially the application of robots allows to introduce a support during the machining. This robotic assisted milling is being an effective and acceptable cost technique. In the paper, a collaborative robot, KUKA LBR iiwa, is used to provide a mobile support while machining a thin-wall. Experimental results shows that the support reduces the elastic deformation of the thin-wall during the machining, thus depth of cut increases.
