Image Edge Detection of the Insulator

Abstract

On the patrol robot for HV Power Line inspection, insulator detection is based on image analysis, processing and recognition. Edge is one of the significant visual information. The technique of the image edge detection is the essential technique in the field of image process. The paper introduces several classical operators of edge detection. Using the simulation result contrast, analy-sis, the wavelet edge detection method is the best. Thus provides the basis for the following insulator cracked detection.
