Abstract
The Helmholtz Alliance ROBEX is developing innovative technologies and procedures for the exploration of extreme environments and the operation in the deep sea and on the Moon or other celestial bodies. This paper provides an overview on the overall project structure and key robotic developments are described exemplary. The use of new technologies will improve the capabilities to enhance our knowledge in both fields. These developments will be demonstrated and tested in representative deep sea and Moon environments during demonstration missions in 2017.
