Abstract
This paper propose and discuss a solution of an intelligent visualization/sensing system for people who suffer from spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) which is a disorder that gradually makes the person paralyzed. The solution includes an electromyography (EMG) system, gaze system, and data fusion algorithm. Moreover, a robot is used that acts as an avatar on one side and a Virtual Reality (VR) technology is used on the patient's side. The evaluation and results of the developed system are shown at the end of the paper. The processing and decision making of the system takes 2.1 seconds. In addition, the accuracy of the EMG and gaze systems is almost 100%.
