Abstract
Nowadays mobile robots become loaded with information. The application conditions need installation of various sensors, machine vision systems, and detection and navigation facilities. It goes without saying the requirements to a robot-operator transmission channel, its reliability, and capacity ramps up. The paper reviews the authors’ experience in designing data transmission channels for mobile robots as exemplified by wire and wireless channels. Circuit design features, selection of hardware components, and the issues of unification and integration are discussed.
