Abstract

Oral insulin platforms to address various biological barriers are summarized by O. C. Farokhzad, W. Tao, and co-workers in their Minireview on page 19787. Representative advances in facilitating oral insulin delivery are demonstrated, including strategies centered on moieties-mediated transport, cell-penetrating peptide-assisted permeation, smart oral robotics transport, and microenvironment-responsive release.
