Abstract
In recent years, with the continuous studying of robot technology, some scholars have set their sights on bionics in designing robots. Spiders, as creatures that crawl quickly on six legs, have advantages in the field of exploration that many other creatures do not have, such as light but reliable legs, superior load carrying capacity at the same weight, and adaptability to all terrain. The purpose of this paper is to design a spider-like hexapod robot, which will be mainly used in the field of cave exploration, focusing on solving important cave exploration work that is difficult to carry out in extreme situations. In this paper, the dilemma of cave exploration will be studied through literature research, and the structure and material strength and stiffness required by the robot will be designed by qualitative analysis. Based on the prospects of hexapod spider-shaped robots in the field of robot exploration and robot transportation, this paper will propose a feasible exploration hexapod robot and improve its design. The resulting robot could help people in cave exploration and reduce the likelihood of danger for researchers.
