Abstract

The integration of 5G private networks into smart agriculture holds significant promise, but the challenge lies in addressing the diverse needs of rural areas. This paper introduces an architecture framework for modeling dronesupported agricultural robotics and IoT-based edge computing within a flexible 5G private radio network on farms. Through multiple case studies within an award-winning TM-Forum catalyst project for sustainability, spanning various agricultural sectors and supply chain roles, the framework demonstrates its efficacy in timely and coherent architecture modeling. It also facilitates alignment among system architectures and promotes the reuse of architectural knowledge across autonomous agricultural systems.
