Abstract

Recently, plant factories have been studied and developed. In these cultivation systems, however, it is not easy to maintain optimal environment for each individual plant. We propose a cultivation system using Plantroids which are robotized plant pots. A Plantroid moves automatically to an optimal environment for each individual plant based on sensory information of each plant and the surrounding environment. This paper describes development of a fruit growing Plantroid which moves autonomously to a sunny area based on generation voltage of solar cells equipped on the robot.
