Abstract

For the children and students who are under care by hospitals and cannot present in classes, a system using an avatar robot remotely controlled by a child/student is constructed to obtain real-time information in classes, helping the student to participate in classes. In the system, a control method using eye-gaze input in the remote control of the avatar robot is proposed. In addition, a method is developed to promote the students concentration to the contents on blackboard that are pointed and emphasized by the teacher. Experimental results of the proposed system are reported to confirm the effectiveness.
