Abstract
Vision is an important part of the chess robot software,its key problems are binarization of chess-board and character recognition.To solve the problem of the full chess-board binarization, the method of binarization based on the difference threshold of neighboring pixels' gray scales is given.To treat the random of a character's direction, the method of character recognition based on annual ring is given. Experiments show that the methods could work fastly and with high quality.
