Abstract

Widely spread local war conflicts all over the world often involving non-regular (partisan) military units have resulted in intensive use of various types of mine. Mines are installed both in the soil and on its surface and represent a material threat to the peaceful population for a long period after the conflict has been terminated. New technologies and devices are needed to resolve tasks in humanitarian demining operations. We describe new technologies of minefield reconnaissance in humanitarian demining operations with the use of airborne and surface robotic devices. Also, great importance is attached to the methods of processing and identification of images on the computers.
