Abstract
Internet of Things (IoT) based robotics and industrial applications are a profound fact of our forthcoming future. IoT and the rapid dispersion of robots in voluminous accomplishments in daily life is realized. The fourth industrial revolution called as Industry 4.0 speaks about automation in industrial maneuvers through the use of cutting-edge smart technology. Industry 4.0 employs IoT to automate manufacturing process. Numerous researchers are working on IOT in robotics/Industry 4.0 to achieve the state-of-the-art technological developments which is essential to address the comprehensive application areas and requirements of industries. This paper presents the survey on technological aspects, applications and limitations in the Industrial 4.0, specifically in robotics sector. Numerous volumes of published research work in this domain was studied by means of a broad bibliography over an extended period. The related works are categorized based on the application domain and presented precisely. This paper provides a state of the art related to IoT based robotics and significance of IoT in Industry 4.0 with respect to specific applications, approaches, technological tools and security.
