The Application Prospect of Robot in the Nuclear and Radiation Emergency

Abstract

With the continued development of nuclear power industry,there often happen nuclear and radiation accidents. The specific radiation exposure of nuclear and radiation accidents has brought great difficulties to the emergency work,so the effective use of the robot in the field of nuclear and radiation emergency has become particularly important. This paper analyzes the necessity and feasibility of the use of robots in the scene of the nuclear and radiation accidents. Through analysis on the application of robots in Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant accidents,the shortcomings of using the robots in the nuclear and radiation emergency are put forward and some suggestions are raised for developing robots applicable to nuclear and radiation accidents emergency.
