Abstract
In this digitalization world, the retail industries are progressing exponentially, which significantly challenges various companies, and stakeholders to meet production stability. In the present retail industry, customer experience becomes a major factor, so product unavailability when customer needs can disappoint them, and the retailers continuously must build their customer's trust in them. It is important to check the availability of stocks every time so that the proprietors will not fall into these problems. It is also difficult for the staff to patiently handle customers and the availability of products. So, a system to handle these repetitive tasks is needed. It helps to track the irregularities that occur during product arrangement and stock quantity management. It also guides the customers to their desired product with an aligned map of the location. The QR codes on all the racks are scanned and the products are identified by image classification to devise the map for the locations of corresponding products. The robot scans the whole blocks and checks the specified product's presence and quantity. Any irregularities observed are recognized and reported instantly to the management. The measurement of stocks can be viewed at any time and from anywhere through the website. The main objectives of these robots are to reduce manpower, improves customer satisfaction, and accuracy in the work, avoiding mistakes done by a human. This paper is about autonomous retail stock-checking robots and their current technological and future advancements.
