Abstract
In certain situations, in the pre-university and university educational field, it is necessary to take online classes. Often there are not enough technical solutions for carrying out laboratory activities so that students can physically interact remotely with the experimental stand. Multimedia technologies widely used for online education are limited to audio-video-text transmission, not being able to interact physically. In this paper, a modular telepresence robot concept is proposed for the development of advanced research skills, of the DIY (Do It Yourself) type that can be adapted to perform measurements, with the possibility of autonomous or remotely controlled movement and the transmission of images using a mobile application. In the way the telepresence robot was designed, the architecture, it can be used in the diagnostic and telemedicine assistance process. An experimental prototype was made and the theoretical working hypothesis was practically tested. The results show that the solution is feasible, being able to adapt to other fields where telepresence robotics is useful.
